No matter what happens to the ACA, the trend of providing value based health care has gained a momentum that won’t be easy to stop. If Trump succeeds in eliminating health exchanges and rolling back coverage in states that expanded Medicaid, providers will likely see a dramatic rise in uncompensated care. Hospitals will bear the brunt of this increase in uncompensated care and have an incentive begin utilizing scalable methods for population health management.

Harvard Study Finds That MedAware Identifies Errors & Reduces Risk
A Harvard study analyzed records from almost 800,000 patients to assess the efficacy of Dreamit startup MedAware. The report found that MedAware’s technology identifies errors otherwise undetected by current systems in use, minimizes the risks arising from fatigued doctors who are used to getting false alerts from current systems, and reduces prescription errors with high accuracy.

Dreamit Startup Voiceitt Receives Prestigious BIRD Grant
The Israel-U.S. Binational Industrial Research and Development (BIRD) Foundation approved $7.2 million in funding for eight new projects in the areas of agrotechnology, biotechnology, material sciences, homeland security, and more. In addition to the grants from BIRD, the projects will access private sector funding, boosting the total value of all projects to approximately $17 million.
Dreamit Alum Callida Energy named $80,000 winner of 2016 NextChallenge: Smart Cities
NextEnergy, in partnership with DENSO International America, DTE Energy and Wells Fargo, has named Callida Energy (Dreamit 2013) as the winner of the 2016 NextChallenge: Smart Cities technology challenge, a global competition challenging innovators to find hardware and software technology solutions to address unmet needs in urban areas. Callida Energy will receive $80,000 in grant funding from Wells Fargo to demonstrate and validate their solution.
