You do dev sprints. Now you’ll do Customer Sprints®. Meet with leading corporates, tech companies, managed security service providers (MSSPs) , government agencies, the military, and other organizations. During two-week, customer-focused sprints Dreamit companies build their customer pipeline and partnerships, get feedback, and enhance their industry networks. Companies typically pitch a total of 15-25 executive-level decision-makers accelerating relationships by months. Two-week Customer Sprints occur four times per year.

INVESTOR SPRINTS®

During Investor Sprints®, founders have curated, one-on-one meetings with top US venture capital and security-focused firms. Typically each founder meets a total of 20-30 investors. The process is extremely efficient and accelerates the fundraising process enabling companies to gain rapid market feedback on what it will take to close their next round. Leading up to the Investor Sprint, founders go through an intense prep process including Mock VC Meetings to maximize the probability of successfully raising a round. Two-week Investor Sprints occur three times per year.

Mel Shakir, Partner - Securetech

As the Partner leading Dreamit’s Securetech Vertical Mel’s job involves working with cybersecurity companies from around the world to realize their full potential - refining their positioning and go-to-market strategy, scaling their sales operations, and mapping out their capital needs. Mel is a recognized leader in cybersecurity and SIEM technology.  Prior to joining Dreamit, Mel spent the prior 15 years developing and bringing innovative cybersecurity solutions to market. Mel started his career in cybersecurity as CTO of Incache, a database security solution, which he founded in 2004 that culminated in an acquisition first by RippleTech and later by NitroSecurity (where he served as CTO) and finally McAfee. More recently, Mel served as Director of Product Management at RSA Netwitness and at Securonix as the SVP of Product Development where he was responsible for development and go-to-market strategy for the Next Generation Cloud SIEM solution. Mel also continues to serve on Securonix’s advisory board and operates a website PrivacySteward.org aimed at empowering families with the information and tools they need for taking charge of their digital rights and protecting their families privacy. Mel received a MS in Electric Power Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and a BS in Electrical Engineering from the University of Mumbai. LinkedIn | Twitter

Drew Hunt, Director - Securetech
As a Direct of Dreamit’s Securetech Vertical Drew assists Securetech vertical operations and works alongside the Securetech Managing Director to improve program outcomes. Drew speaks incessantly with cybersecurity, physical security, governance/risk/compliance, and anti/counter fraud startups and industry leaders to curate great Dreamit investment opportunities and derive where Dreamit can drive material startup impact. Additionally, Drew aids marketing efforts to promote Dreamit’s Securetech vertical. Before Dreamit, Drew, as one of the first 10 employees, worked for Conceal (formerly NetAbstraction) as Vice President of Business Development and Strategy, leading global business development and go-to-market strategy across commercial and government markets. Drew has nearly a decade of cybersecurity and startup experience. He holds an MBA from Georgetown University’s McDonough School of Business and a BS in Management from Clemson University. what we look for

Dreamit looks for companies that have deployed a product and demonstrated early traction in the areas of cybersecurity, anti-fraud, risk & compliance, and physical security. Companies should have revenue, pilots, or other evidence of early product-market fit. We require that founders demonstrate this initial traction so they can take full advantage of the value-add that Dreamit offers, which involves meeting with customers and forming partnerships with leading corporates, tech companies, managed security service providers (MSSPs), government agencies, the military, and other organizations.
