What we're reading in the world of digital health startups, policy, and fundraising announcements..
I was exchanging emails with the founder of one of the larger startup pitch conferences. He had asked me if I would promote his event with some of the Dreamit startups who are currently fundraising. Normally, I’m happy to share these opportunities with our alumni but in this case, this was a pay-to-pitch event and, as a general rule, I’m not a fan of that model.
Who stands to benefit from the shift to value based care? What is the payment relationship between each of these entities (cash payments, contractual fees, wholesale pricing, chargebacks, reimbursements, data sharing, etc.)? What innovations are making each of these pieces more efficient? This panel aims to provide an illuminating look at how money flows through the healthcare system from the perspective of top healthcare innovation officers.
The most innovative healthcare providers around the country are doing their part to expand access in local communities, but this effort must be complemented by technology developed outside of these organizational structures to make a broad impact across society.
